My name is Justin Alvarez, and I’m the Co-Owner of Swamp Workz Golf Cars. My journey in the golf cart industry started early — I was just 12 years old when I began working at my grandfather’s golf cart store in Robert, Louisiana. After school and on weekends, I spent time learning the ins and outs of golf carts, developing a passion for how they work and how to make them better.
After about five years working alongside my grandfather, my mom helped launch Interstate Golf Cars in Hammond. Once I graduated from high school, I joined her there full-time. Over the years, I worked my way up through the ranks and eventually earned the title of Master Tech, gaining extensive hands-on experience and technical knowledge.
When the owner of Interstate Golf Cars retired and closed the business in 2024, my mom and I decided it was time to start something of our own. We founded Swamp Workz Golf Cars in June 2024, initially operating from home. After about ten months of hard work and growth, we proudly moved into our new location in the great town of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, where we continue to serve the community with high-quality golf carts and trusted service.

Julie Alvarez

Co-Owner

My name is Julie Alvarez. I am the Co-Owner of Swamp Workz Golf Cars. I’m a proud wife, mother of three grown children, and grandmother to one amazing little girl who is the light of my life. In my free time, I love spending time with my granddaughter, shopping, traveling, and cruising around the neighborhood with my two dogs on our golf cart.
My journey in the golf cart industry began in 2001 when I helped my dad open his golf cart shop in Robert, Louisiana. I worked alongside him for about five years before helping launch Interstate Golf Cars in Hammond in 2007. I remained there until 2024, when the owner retired and closed the business.
With over two decades of experience and a deep passion for the industry, my oldest son and I decided to open our own golf cart store in June 2024. We started by running the business from home for about ten months before moving into our current location in the wonderful town of Ponchatoula, Louisiana — a place we’re proud to call home for our growing business.
